Fertility Boosters

Read this list of foods with an awareness that encouraging conception is a process, not a matter of ingesting the magic food that will make "it" happen.

Green Tea - contains compounds that influence the liver's handling of estrogen, (Most of the caffeine is released in the first 20 seconds, so to reduce the caffeine content pour out the water after steeping the teabag for 20 seconds, then steep again)

Sunflower seeds (raw, organic) rich in vitamin E

Millet - helps restore PH balance from too much acid foods.

Almonds (raw, organic) high in calcium B2

Dark green leafy vegetables - folic acid

Wheat germ - rich in vitamin E, selenium, Zinc, B vitamins

Also check chapter titled "Cleaning the Refrigerator" in the book Inconceivable

Avoid:

Alcohol consumption

Tobacco (including second-hand smoke exposure)

Processed Foods

Caffeine (including caffeinated soft drinks)*

Pesticides in foods

Exposure to chemicals in household cleaners (explore non-toxic cleaners available in most health food stores)

Aspartame (in many processed diet foods)

Commercial vaginal lubricants (instead use egg whites, which are enthusiastically endorsed by many of the couples in our workshops)

Over the counter drugs as well as prescription drugs should be avoided as much as possible (do your own research and discuss with a holistically-minded health professional)

Drinking tap water (unless it has been tested, for information on the water supply in your area check www.epa.gov/safewater)

All of the above suggestions are, of course, tools that effect the whole-person. Working on your diet could help lift you out of depression. Meditation can have a profound physical effect, etc.
