In the last sixteen years, my entire relationship to books has changed.
I have become much more aware of the live presence behind the pages. I look at them as my guides, my truest, most reliable friends who are there at a moment’s notice. I wouldn’t dream of throwing away a single volume that has taught me something at some point in my life.
