What makes their story so important to share, is that Lynn and Patrick conceived their first child through IVF.  Similarly to other couples I’ve worked with who, after their first IVF pregnancy  had trouble conceiving a second child (aka secondary infertility), the second time, IVF didn’t go they way they imagined it would.

As I read through the information they submitted when they first joined the Visionary calls, I suggested that the greatest obstacle to a natural conception was an erroneous belief. Since their first child was an IVF baby, Lynn’s body got the message that the second child could also only arrive on the IVF train.

So the first focus of our work together was to retrace their steps and ask what it was that didn’t get to be healed through that first IVF that Lynn now had a chance to heal. And that’s exactly what we did. In Lynn and Patrick’s case, the healing was extraordinarily quick.

No, that’s not always the case. A spontaneous pregnancy is also not a given no matter how much healing we do. But regardless of how we get to finally complete our families, the one thing we’re always called to ask ourselves is:

What is the invitation of this challenge and how will we respond to that invitation?
