By now you probably know that your gut health aka your micro-biome, is closely related to your fertility and your health. One of the ways to seed your gut with good bacteria is by including delicious fermented foods in your diet. That’s our FertileHeart chef and my darlingest husband in that video doing what he loves to do.

Cabbage/carrot or cabbage/beet are some of my fave combos.

Fermented Cabbage and Carrots

1 ½ lbs. of shredded cabbage

1 ½ lbs. shredded carrots

5 ½ tsps salt

¼ tsp cayenne pepper

½ tsp curry powder

½ tsp coriander seed

1 tsp grated fresh turmeric

Combine all ingredients mix thoroughly and press firmly into a ½ Gallon Mason Jar

Add weight to keep ingredients under liquid and cover the jar loosely to let CO2 escape. (Be careful about the CO2 buildup. You don’t want the whole thing exploding on you.)

Fermentation will take 2 – 6 weeks depending on room temperature and desired taste. .
Enjoy!
