We have lots of fun on our support calls and in the workshops talking about bringing fire back into “production time.” Because of course, libido boosting always starts in our hearts and minds.

That doesn’t mean that you can’t get a little help from delicious libido boosting herbs and spices.

Here are just three of my favorites:

Cinnamon

This modest delicious tasting spice stimulates blood flow and supports your adrenals, the parent organs for all all hormone production. In addition to blood flow support, cinnamon also help control blood sugar levels, which is a fabulous side effect. We have insulin receptors on our ovaries. When these receptors sense high levels of insulin it can cause havoc on our hormone levels.

To get the most out of your cinnamon you may want to ground it yourself to make sure it retains all its essential oils.

You can sprinkle it on fruit, on your chia pudding, your morning oatmeal, mix it in your smoothie, your almond milk, or anything else that suits your fancy!

Oat Tops

The Oat Tops which are harvested in their milky stage before they become oats have been traditionally used by herbalists to increase libido and overall reproductive health.

Milky oats encourage blood flow which aids healthy erectile function and sexual performance.

Milky oats may also free up bound testosterone, a problem that increases with age that depresses libido.

A study done by the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality showed Milky Oats contributed to an increase in orgasms for men and women along with more pleasure and sexual desire.

Milky oats calm and relax mental stress, a major libido blocker. They also encourage blood flow which aids healthy erectile function and sexual performance.

Saffron

Saffron is another spice that is a well known aphrodisiac. It is a bit pricey as the flowers are harvested by hand but a little goes a long way. Look for bright red saffron with sparse orange and yellow threads.

Have fun spicing up your production time!
