Fertility Supplements: Fertile Heart Choice

Be sure to take a look at my Fertility Supplements: Do's & Don'ts of Using Supplements to Boost Your Fertility and Health before choosing your supplements. You'll find a few recommendations there.

The research on supplementation is ongoing. Email us at info@fertileheart.com for possible updates and additional suggestions.

Reduced L-Glutathione

Glutathione  – is an antioxidant produced by the body naturally. Glutathione levels are reduced with age, poor nutrition and other lifestyle factors that contribute to oxidative stress. When it comes to fertility challenges, Glutathione supplementation can be especially helpful in helping to fight inflammation for people with autoimmune issues, and support sperm health.

O.N.E. Multivitamin

Pure Encapsulations’ O.N.E.™ Multivitamin with With Metafolin® L-5-MTHF contains vitamin A‚ vitamin C‚ vitamin D‚ vitamin E‚ and several B complex vitamins.

In addition‚ every capsule provides Metafolin® L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (also known as L-5-MTHF). L-5-MTHF is a naturally occurring form of folate that works to support human growth‚ promote heart health‚ and encourage the release of potentially relaxing serotonin. Folate‚ which is also known as folic acid‚ may have additional benefits for women.

This supplement also contains an antioxidant complex‚ which can work to fight off potentially harmful free radicals. These antioxidants include MicroActive® CoQ10 (a patented‚ sustained-release form of coenzyme Q10 that’s almost universally absorbed) and alpha lipoic acid (ALA).

Thorne Basic Prenatal (for those of you who have regular menstrual cycles & MTHFR Gene Mutation) )

Prenatals are not “pre-conception” supplements. Which is why if you do not have regular cycles, you need to be careful about ingesting them.  Speak to a healthcare provider about testing  your iron levels and other nutrient levels to determine whether prenatals are the right choice for you.

Thorne Basic Prenatal is formulated with methylfolate rather than a synthetic form of folic acid. Research suggests that people who have been diagnosed with the MTHFR gene mutation have a harder time converting folate into its useable form of methylfolate. If you have a history of miscarriages or implantation issues, you might find it useful to find our if you carry this What’s puzzling is that som women who carry this mutation have had one or more full term pregnancies before learning about MTHFR.

Pure Encapsulations DHEA

Be sure to read this page with my take on DHEA supplementation. As popular as this growth hormone has become in the last decade, it needs to be used with caution.

Pure Encapsulations DHEA is micronized which helps to increase absorption.

Myo-Inositol

Myo-Inositol supplementation has been linked with improved insulin function and increased IVF success in women with PCOS. This page offers more PCOS related suggestions.

In the last several years I've seen many of my clients increase their chances of getting pregnant with the help of high quality supplements. Research and clinical practice also come down on the side of fertility supplementation for both aspiring parents. Regardless of which one of you has been diagnosed with an imbalance, increasing both partners' level of health has been linked with higher pregnancy rates. Be sure to read the the 3-part article on the do's and don'ts of supplementation suggested at the top of the page.

Testimonials

"At the workshop and afterward I found I was reaching a space that finally allowed me see that I had options to create our family. And that I t less of a mother, woman, person, catholic, or wife for seeking generosity from and egg donor. Along with diet and imagery I really delved deep into as Julia says. Through imagery, blogs, reading her books, the retreat and conference calls I did that. It was very powerful. I also used the vitamins she recommended which I loved and felt really good using. We are now 4 1/2 months pregnant with two gorgeous beings."

In my quest for knowledge about fertility/infertility, and natural treatments and approaches, I came across your work. I read the reviews of your books and then spent a good deal of time on your website. Your words spoke to me, and I felt compelled to pursue your approaches. I have both of your books, and I have just received one of your CD's. I am so eager to use and learn more about your work!! I have hope. After spending time reading your website, I have started to take some of the supplements you suggest and like them a lot."
